MCAP Curriculum

The Mopar® Career Automotive Program (MCAP) curriculum is designed to provide future technicians with cutting-edge classroom instruction and hands-on experience with a dealer. The exact curriculum and training will vary by school, as it is based on the individual schools current automotive technology courses — which are modified to include FCA US LLC-specific training.

Academic courses included ensure the development of a more rounded and technically proficient individual as they enter the workforce. Below is a SAMPLE of what a MCAP curriculum might look like. Contact the participating school of your choice for their specific program requirements.

Fall Semester: 4 months, 17 credits

  • Brake Systems
  • Service Fundamentals
  • Electrical Fundamentals
  • Starting & Charging Systems
  • General Academic Classes

Winter Semester: 4 months, 18 credits

  • Suspension, Steering & Alignment
  • Engines
  • Ignition Systems
  • General Academic Classes OR Dealer Internship

Spring Semester: 4 months, 17 credits

  • Fuel Systems
  • Automotive Electronics
  • A/C & Heating Systems
  • General Academic Classes OR Dealer Internship

Fall Semester: 4 months, 13 credits

  • Fundamentals of Welding
  • Emissions Systems
  • Tune-up
  • General Academic Classes OR Dealer Internship

Winter Semester: 4 months, 15 credits

  • Drivability Procedures
  • Standard Transmission, Transaxles, Transfer Cases
  • Automatic Transmissions, Transaxle Fundamentals

Total at Graduation: 20 Months, 80 credits
