Which vehicles are eligible for Essential Care?
Essential Care is offered online on most Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® , Ram and Fiat® vehicles from model year 2003 to present. Visit the Service Department of any Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® , Ram or Fiat® dealer for help finding an Essential Care plan for older vehicles.
What services are included with Essential Care?

Essential Care plans purchased online in all states except California include four lube, oil and oil filter services, which must be used within two years of the date the plan is purchased. Essential Care plans purchased online in the state of California include two lube, oil and oil filter services, which must be used within one year of the date the plan is purchased.

Each service includes the type and quantity of oil that is specifically recommended for your vehicle by FCA US LLC, as identified by your vehicle identification number (VIN). Dealers reserve the right to apply additional disposal fees.

Where can I use my Essential Care plan?
You can obtain service at participating Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® , Ram and Fiat® dealers. To schedule a service appointment, call your dealer at your convenience or visit a dealer with an Express Lane for drive-up service.
Can I use my Essential Care plan on more than one vehicle?
No. Your plan is purchased for a specific VIN, so services must be performed on the vehicle to which your Essential Care plan was registered.
Do you offer Essential Care plans with longer terms or more oil changes?
Yes. Plans up to six years and 24 services can be purchased at the Service Department of any Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® , Ram and Fiat® dealer. Be sure to ask for Essential Care by name.
What documentation will I receive to confirm my Essential Care purchase?
Once you've completed the online purchase of your Essential Care plan, you will be provided with a contract number and a PDF of your plan to print for your records. You will receive a confirmation email shortly thereafter. You can access your plan anytime in the Care section of this website. If it's not available on the website, call Mopar® Vehicle Protection at 1-800-521-9922 and we'll send you a copy.
How does the dealer know that I have Essential Care?
Once you complete your plan purchase, your Essential Care contract is registered in our database. When it's time for service, your plan can be referenced by your VIN or contract number at a participating Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® , Ram and Fiat® dealer.
How do I obtain one of my Essential Care services?
Just call your dealer or schedule an appointment online, or visit a dealer with Express Lane service. Your plan details are in our database, so you'll just need to provide your VIN or contract number to obtain service.
Does my Essential Care plan expire?
Yes. Essential Care plans that are purchased online have the following expiration terms:
  • In all states except California, plans expire two years from the date of purchase or when all four services have been used, whichever comes first
  • In the state of California, plans expire one year from the date of purchase or when both services have been used, whichever comes first
What if I change my mind? Can I cancel my plan?
Yes. Essential Care plans sold online are cancellable for a full refund within 60 days of purchase, as long as no services have been used. There are two ways to cancel a plan:
  • Take your personalized plan provisions to any dealer and they will contact us to request a cancellation
  • Mail your cancellation request to: Mopar Vehicle Protection, Cancellation Department, P.O. Box 2700, Troy, MI, 48007-2700
Cancellation refunds are made by check, which are mailed to the customer's address of record.
Can I transfer my Essential Care plan if I sell my vehicle before using all of the services?
No. Essential Care plans are not transferrable to any other vehicle or vehicle owner for any reason.
Once my Essential Care plan expires, can I purchase another one?
Yes. You can return to this site to purchase another plan, or visit the Service Department at any Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® , Ram and Fiat® dealer. Be sure to ask for Essential Care by name.
